The antique is a exquisite archaic Kwan-yin statue of wood carving seated gesture on base from China.Kwan Yin (Simplified Chinese: 观音; Traditional Chinese: 觀音; Pinyin: Guānyīn) is the bodhisattva of compassion as venerated by East Asian Buddhists, usually as a female. She is also known as the Chinese Bodhisattva of Compassion.The statue is in excellent condition.I can find no chips,cracks,or other visible damage.It is excellent specimen: a work of both artistic merit and spiritual value.The Kwan-yin is wonderful example of the skill and artisty of the Chinese woodcarvers.Guaravteed to be as described and shown.
