Description: M9 bayonet USA army M9 bayonet 1. Purpose - This is a requirement for assault rifle to be equipped with a combat knife. 2. Compatibility - It shall be able to be fitted on M4 assault rifle. 3. Corrosion Resistant - It shall be corrosion resistant conforming to relevant military standard. 4. Handle - a. It shall provide a solid and firm handling even being handled with tactical or thermal gloves and wet hands. b. It shall be in trapezoidal in shape in order to give comfort, blade direction perception. c. It shall be made of at least 30% fibre glass reinforced polyamide. d. It shall be able to insulate both thermal and electricity. e. All metal parts shall conform to the AISI 316/L material standards. f. It should withstand a voltage surge of not less than 1000 Volts 5. Sheath - a. It shall be able to fit the knife blade snugly into it with a tight fit. b. It shall be able to protect the blade from external contact even under rigorous activity. c. It shall have quick released system and shall be able to be fitted to in-service belt or webbing and can be worn at the waist or chest with minimal modification. d. It shall enable the soldier to remove and inserting easily using either hand. e. It shall provide comfort to the soldier when are worn at the waist or on the chest. f. It shall be made from fibre glass reinforced polyamide. g. The inner part of the sheath shall be made from reinforced polymer nylon. h. It shall be resistant to abrasion, tears and scuffing. i. It shall be washable with water and solvents. j. All metal parts shall conform to the AISI 316/L material standards. k. The sheath shall be fitted with a sharpener and screwdriver l. The end part of sheath shall be equipped by a metre of nylon rope. m. The top part of shall be fitted with locking system.
