Product Description
July 15, 2004Looking at the UniverseSince I was small I have been fascinated by what?s going on up in the sky. One day I was in a pub talking with my friend Brew, telling him that I wanted to paint the universe. He smiled at me when I told him, ?you know Brew it?s going to be difficult to paint something that I don?t know?. A few months ago I decided before painting to visit some websites and to read about what scientists and physicists were talking about. I thought that it would be complicated to understand, but I did not know that it was going to be so complicated to understand what?s going on and also who is right in telling this or that theory. Anyway I still understand almost nothing but learned so munch from scientists and physicists and really thanks them for letting me know much more about the universe. My intention at the beginning was to make a painting for people that don?t understand my concrete abstract painting to let them see that I can also make some beauty for their eyes. Since they don?t understand the message or emotions I try to express in my other paintings. I even thought at the beginning that if someone wanted to buy it later, why not since for me it was not a real message or emotion that I am trying to convey as in my other paintings.I really enjoyed myself painting, almost 8 to 12 hours per day for about 3 weeks, sometimes even skipping lunch, preferring to paint rather than to eat.In the middle of the work I spoke with my friend Phil. ?You know Phil, sometimes it?s where I would love to be, looking at the universe on a cloud of sand nebulas?. Then I decided to paint myself taking 2 of my students explaining to them what?s going on, up there. This painting became an emotional painting for me since I put my 2 students and myself in it on a cloud of sand nebula and this is not the painting I wanted to paint but now a part of me and as I said I cannot sell a part of myself. So, to see and not to sell anymore, sorry for the buyers that will be interested in.The canvas represents what I have learned from scientists, and some of my own thoughts and theories, formulated after extensive reading and research. So please scientists or physicists what I am thinking may be wrong but this is just a painting. I will be very happy if I am wrong to get your corrections and opinions since I am even more interested in the universe now than when I was small.I painted the sand nebulas on the bottom right and nebulas of colored gas. What I understand from scientists is that when they meet each other it creates an explosion. I believe that the solar system probably comes from a massive explosion (Big Bang Theory)I put that in the middle of the canvas. The kind of stone that you can see appearing from the explosion is made of Chinese solid rock crystals paints that I glued on it. I believe in a big bang massive explosion that created the solar system and other galaxies but not the universe. I also think that the sun was probably at the center of this explosion. I believe that when the explosion came a group of giant rocks that were turning became the ellipses of planets in the solar system. Some of them during this long trajectory before they all stabilized around the sun, passed too close to the sun which may explain the disappearance of water, in the case of Mars for example (to be verified). Anyway I don?t want to go too far since I am not a scientist or a physicist.I also believe as some scientists do that there must be some kind of life on Venus. This planet is too similar to the earth although too close to the sun.I also believe that there might be at least 3 universes since the black hole absorbs stars that we will never see again probably stars go to a second universe behind the black hole in a form of nebula. Since we have matter coming to the universe it must be another kind of black hole that absorbs stars from another universe that puts matter in our universe. At the top left you can see a ?supernova? (death of a star) and the black hole absorbing a star on the top right.I painted an explosion as formation of a constellation (when stars are born) then I played with some galaxies, stars and meteors. I like to sign my name differently every time, you can see a meteor passing by me signing my name.
